Valle di Cadore

One of the first things you meet in the Boite Valley is Valle di Cadore, a town of about 2,000 inhabitants located at about 851 meters above sea level on the slopes of Mount Antelao, in the Belluno Dolomites. The village is inhabited by a cheerful mixture of old and new, with a variety of attractions for both sports lovers and lovers of history and culture. In Valle there are testimonies of a remote past, a frontier settlement of the Antica Strada Regia and the Via Claudia Augusta Altinate, which originally proceeded through the Cadore Centrale to the Monte Croce Comelico Pass. There are votive artifacts of Roman and pre-Roman origin, such as a tombstone of the first century A.D. .
