San Vito di Cadore
The village of San Vito di Cadore, in the northern part of Veneto, is located near Venice, at the foot of majestic mountains. Mount Antelao, 3,264 feet (10,000 feet), is the king of the Dolomites and is also known as Marmolada. The Sorapiss group, one of the most important mountain groups in the Dolomites, includes Mount Marcora, also known as the Caregón de 'l Padreterno (the Throne of the Fatherland). It is located in the Belluno Dolomites, 1011 meters above sea level. San Vito is a strategic starting point for excursions in the Belluno Dolomites, a green region in the heart of the Belluno Dolomites, and is a popular destination for both experienced mountaineers and those who admire the peaks from below.
