San Cassiano

San Cassiano, situated at an altitude of 1,537 metres above sea level at the foot of the Lavarella and Conturines massifs, is a hospitable country with international charm, inhabited by almost 900 inhabitants. Hotels, high-level restaurants, huts and farmhouses make your stay pleasant and easy. The pedestrian area, with bars, restaurants and various shops (which are under attack during the tourist season), is particularly famous. The mountains surrounding San Cassiano are particularly interesting from a geological and historical point of view. All around Mount Lagazuoi are visible testimonies of the tragic history of the First World War. In addition, at the foot of the Conturines it is possible to visit a well-preserved cave of a prehistoric cave bear, to which the museum of San Cassiano - located in the village centre - is dedicated as well.
