Passo Falzarego (Falzarego Pass)

The Falzarego Pass is an Alpine pass in the Veneto region, in the province of Belluno, which connects the upper Agordino with Cortina d'Ampezzo via the State Road SS 48, one of the main communication roads of the Dolomites. It is located a few kilometres south of the border with Trentino-Alto Adige, to which it is connected via the Valparola pass, between Lagazuoi and Sass de Stria. You cannot fully enjoy the beauties of the Falzarego Pass if you do not ride it by bike, as well-known athletes did in the past during the Giro d'Italia (Tour of Italy). Right here, Fausto Coppi defeated for the first time Gino Bartali in a mountain climb in 1946.
